Tales from the Meadery - July 2026

July was relatively quiet in the Meadery.
Mrs Mead spent most of the month buried in paperwork, punctuated by regular appearances on the naughty step for crimes against social media. Being far too old for such modern nonsense, she continues to approach Facebook, Instagram and TikTok with the confidence of someone trying to diffuse a bomb using a wooden spoon.
Meanwhile, Mr Mead spent much of the month gallivanting around the countryside with his beloved flag. There was fun to be had at the excellent Wallop Wings & Wheels Show, featuring Spitfires, sunshine and very little actual work. He also managed to come home covered in pastry on at least one occasion. For those of you who know, PastryGate is the saga that just keeps giving.
Then came the New Forest Show, where Mr and Mrs Mead somehow managed to survive three whole days together without either a murder investigation or a divorce lawyer being required. The show itself was interesting... the heat was relentless, the dust was biblical, and by the end of the weekend everyone looked like they'd spent three days crossing the Sahara in a livestock trailer. Every bottle, box, shelf, crate and vaguely horizontal surface returned home looking like it had been excavated from an archaeological dig. Everything has since been cleaned, dusted, polished and then cleaned again, just to be sure.
So yes, a relatively quiet month by our standards. No major incidents, no arrests, and only one person sentenced to the naughty step. Let's see what August brings!
